Calling All Belgium and Michigan-based Dancers! Created by international dance artist, Briana Ashley Stuart, the Creative Living for Dancers Award is dedicated to supporting the development of professional dancers in the digital sphere. A 1000€ award will be given to dance artists interested in creating work while experimenting with the innovative web-monetization model.
The CLD Award is linked to the ongoing experimentation with the innovative Web Monetization model to provide an empowering and income producing avenue for promoting dancer’s work. All new works must be in response to the prompt, “Using Dance as a Vehicle to….”. Examples of possible final projects include, but are not limited to: Concept Videos, Online Training, Dance Films, Online Workshops, and Live Pre-Recorded Performances.
- Must be 18 years old or older and a resident of the state of Michigan (USA) or Belgium.
- Ability to produce a minimum 5 minute dance work within a 2-month period.
- Applicants may include individuals, groups, companies and non-profit organizations.
- Professional dance artists of all styles.
- An interest in experimenting with new income-producing platforms for dance content on the web.
We hope to redirect how dancers use and disseminate their digital work through the Creative Living for Dancer’s Award and increase their control over their own data and content. Each awardee will be guided through the creation of their own account on Cinnamon.video, the Web-monetization hosting site. Each work will then be monetized and linked to the Creative Living for Dancers site. Each artist maintains ownership of their submitted works, however, each project must be exclusively hosted on Cinnamon and the Creative Living for Dancers site for 90 days, to adequately evaluate the successful web-monetization of the project.
Award: 1000€ Award, 6 month subscription to Cinnamon.video
Call Opens: November 15, 2020
Deadline for All Submissions: December 6, 2020 at 11:59pm (EST)
Award Recipients Announced: by January 6, 2021.
